The Birthday stops here
It turns out the only thing that makes Y Chromosome crazier than incessantly interrogating him about the origins, size, shape, and contents of my birthday present, is feigning disinterest in anything of the sort. My birthday was a little less than a month ago, and when the big day came and he brought the present over to me, I was so excited that I finally—eh, wait a minute—what’s the fun in that? I had just set up my water boarding station in the middle of my living room, with Rock the Casbah set to auto-loop, and now you’re telling me I don’t even get to use it?? That after all those months of interrogation, you’re just going to hand the present to me?? I’m sorry, who is the torturer in this situation here? Whose rights are being impinged upon?
And then he tossed himself out the window. Huh. Men.
We weren’t going to celebrate my birthday until that weekend anyway, so I figured I’d open it then, but then we decided to go somewhere else. We tried for the next week, but then we ended up skipping town for the weekend. And then I forgot all about the present, neatly wrapped and nestled into a stack of paperwork and bills accumulating on the table by the door.
I rediscovered it a couple of days ago while shuffling through the stack, looking for a pair of wayward earrings (don’t ask). And last night I just couldn’t take it anymore, and finally opened my gift. And then I may have danced around my apartment singing, “She’s mine, she’s mine, she’s mine, sheeeeee’sssssss miiiiiiiiiine.” Maybe.
This is a world-famous Marshmallow Bunny handmade by Claire at Loobylu. I had bid on a couple of the latest batch of bunnies, of which this little lady was a member, but I proved to be a total eBay flunky; in spite of my constant stalking, my strategic bidding, my whining at the computer for its vindictive lack of speed, I didn’t win any of the bunnies. This one was my absolute favorite, but I never even made a bid on her, so quickly did she surpass my self-imposed bunny budget.
Best end to the best month-long birthday celebration ever.

Yipee! You have made my day! :)
